Sir Angus was the Chief of the Defence Force from 2005 to 2011. DESCRIPTION:The International Military Writers’ Festival is a three-day festival running from 5-7 April 2019. The Festival will feature author talks\, panel discussions and literary sessions bringing together writers\, historians and researchers from around Australia to entertain\, inform and inspire those with a passion for wartime history. \nThe Writers’ Festival will open on Friday 5 April with an evening address\, The Day Everything Changed\, from Festival Ambassador Peter FitzSimons. With his trademark dry wit and sincere passion for history\, Peter will explore the events surrounding the initial bombing of Darwin on 19 February 1942 – a milestone that changed Darwin and Australia forever. \nWith over 20 sessions and 30 participants\, the program offers something for everyone.
