Membership 2022-2023

Annual Membership from 1 July to 30 June

Become a member of the Society and share with others an interest in Australian Naval history. The Society’s purpose is to record, preserve and promote understanding and awareness of the aval history of Australia in the community.

Annual membership includes:

  • Quarterly subscriptions to The Naval Historical Review, our in-house journal covering personal recollections, anecdotes, book reviews and articles on wide-ranging subjects including naval operations, events and engagements.
  • Quarterly subscriptions to The Buzz our in-house newsletter covering recent developments.
  • The latest Occasional papers issued with the monthly Call the Hands Newsletter (11 issues p.a.). These Occasional Papers become publically available 12 months after first release.
  • A 10% discount on all Shop items except Ships’ Plans – this is per a special voucher code renewed each membership year.
  • New Members also receive one free NHSA Video download of choice – this is confirmed with a special voucher upon membership confirmation
  • Invitations to Society Tours ahead of public release, at a discounted rate.
  • Entitlement to join a Society’s Garden Island & Naval Chapel tour on a Thursday Morning. This will not commence until the Sydney lockdowns and Defence restrictions allow.
  • Invitations to Member events, especially the current Zoom presentations or view videos of the events where applicable, free of charge.
  • Access to the Society’s library, archives and photographic collections. Prior arrangement is required due to our location within the secure perimeter of Garden Island in Sydney
  • Regular lectures in four capital cities.

Description

Memberships start on 1 Jul annually by purchasing a new membership. We give our members a 45 day grace period at the beginning of each financial year to finalise their new membership.

The four most recent editions of The Naval Historical Review will become available with your member log on details.

If you elect to receive printed copies (Australian addresses only), mailouts happen each quarter. If you join after the first quarter you will receive previous additions in your first delivery.

Print and post can be arranged to overseas addresses on request.
