The Find A E 1 Ltd search for HMAS AE1 in December 2017 and the follow up examination of the wreck in early 2018 with MV Fugro Equator
and MV Petrel respectively!
Captain Ken Greig served in our RAN for 25 years from 1971.He was Engineer Officer of the Oberon Class Submarines Onslow and Ovens before ‘surfacing’ in the landing ship HMAS Tobruk.He was Project Officer Officer for refits on Cockatoo Island; Submarin and Squadron Engineer based at HMAS Platypus then Engineer of HMAS Success.
Captain Greig was Project Manager of the Collin’s Class Submarine Project, and then policy director for Submarine Engineering matters.
That Ken is passionate about Submarines and their history, will be most obvious to you when you meet him on October 22nd.
Heavily involved in the ‘Silent Anzac Project’ the Foundation which aimed to Preserve,Protect and Promote HMAS AE 2,Ken was also Company Secretary of Find AE 1 Ltd.the organisation established in September 2013 to continue the search for HMAS AE 1 tragically lost with all hands,14 September 1914 and subsequently found on 20 December 2017.
