Our Goals and Strategy

To deliver our business plan the Society has in place a broad range of strategies to achieve four goals.

Our Goals

Centre of Excellence

To be recognised as a ‘Centre of Excellence’ which provides information on Australian naval historical matters to members, Navy and the community.

We do this by providing a reliable, regular and responsive range of services to members, Navy and the community and making information on Australian naval historical matters, accessible through Society publications and this website.

Research and Write

To conduct, facilitate and encourage research and writing on naval historical matters.

We do this by sponsoring initiatives which encourage people to research and write naval history and providing resources which facilitate this.

Grow and Improve

Grow the Society’s membership and image as an innovative centre of excellence by conducting targeted improvement projects.

We do this by broadening the Society’s appeal to a wider audience and we develop, market and sell products designed to enhance understanding of Australian naval history.

Innovate

Maintain a strong, innovative and accountable Naval Historical Society.

We do this by growing a membership of interested people who value Society services and products and operating in a business-like manner and embracing modern information, communications and technology.
