Preserving Australia's Naval History
For June we have excerpts from a three disc DVD which covers the war extensively. We view disc three which is entitled ‘Changing Tide’ . It depicts an American slant on events, and when you get used to the narrator’s distortion of the word ‘Admiralty’, and Australia’s exploits not getting a mention, it has some excellent footage of Jutland and the U Boat campaign. Also featured is the German Spring Offensive in 1918 and the Austria/Italy conflict of 1917. America’s entry into the war is covered, and all in all it is an interesting presentation and well worth viewing.
The Waverley RSL is conveniently situated opposite the station in Glen Waverley, and the parking is free, but you need to display a ticket on your dash board.(Obtainable from reception)
