This presentation by John Jeremy will address trends in the role, design, construction and operation of aircraft carriers in the 21st century.
John Jeremy is Vice-President, Naval Historical Society of Australia and Vice-President, Navy League of Australia.
A professional naval architect, John was Chief Executive Officer, Cockatoo Island Dockyard, 1981-1991; having started there as a Naval Architect apprentice in 1961
He is also a Council Member, Australian Register of Historic Vessels, a Life Member, Australian National Maritime Museum, a Member of the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust Community Advisory Committee, a Member, Planning Committee, Sydney Heritage Fleet, and a member of the Australian Naval Institute; Submarine Institute of Australia; US Naval Institute; Australian Society for History of Engineering and Technology.
He is also a well-known author of books on Australia’s maritime and naval history.
John was awarded his AM in the 2015 Australia Day Honours for his significant service to the preservation and celebration of naval and maritime history.
