This presentation will address the extent and impact of RAN losses in the Pacific and Indian Oceans during World War II.
About the Author
Lt Col Peter Sweeney RFD is a retired Australian Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel (Infantry Corps), military historian, battlefield tour guide and noted speaker on Australian military history.
Peter has made some one hundred and fifty presentations on significant Australian WWI & WWII battles to a variety of community groups in Australia. He is a member of the military history special interest group of the Royal United Institute for Defence and Strategic Studies in New South Wales.
Peter is an associate member of the UK based International Guild of Battlefield Guides and is co-owner of the battlefield touring company Battle Honours Australia Pty Ltd. He has guided groups on WWI and WWII battlefields in Europe, Turkey, Asia and the Pacific.
He has been a guest speaker on several cruises voyages to the Pacific and in Europe.
Peter is a principal of Battle Honours Australia which explores Australia’s military history by way of Talks, Trips and Tours.

Please gather in the Shades on Victoria café bar from 05:00 PM. The Presentation & Discussion will run from 06:00 PM to 07:30 PM.
