Preserving Australia's Naval History
Our Marty Grogan has recently retired as Manager of our HMAS CERBERUS Museum, and not only is he an excellent speaker, he is also a font of knowledge on the collection owing to his extensive research on the artefacts of the museum, undertaken over the ten years of his tenure.
One such artefact is the ships bell from our ‘N’ class destroyer, HMAS Nestor. The Nestor story is brief but fascinating. It involves Artic Convoys, HMS Hood, Bismark and a battle for survival in the Med. One of Marty’s close friends, LCDR Ken Brown was actually sunk in her!.
Join us on June 24 when Marty will recount both Ken’s story and that of his proud ship and crewmates!
