HMAS WARRAMUNGA, (Tribal class destroyer), carrying mail to TG77.1 in the Philippines, signalled the flagship HMAS SHROPSHIRE:- ‘Intend to visit you first’. SHROPSHIRE replied: ‘Shall open fire if you don’t’.
