HMAS Westralia II decommissioned. Since commissioning, Westralia (II) had steamed more than 457 908 nautical miles and transferred more than 400 million dollars worth of diesel. Following her decommissioning she was jointly acquired by the AGR and Helix Energy Solutions groups with the intention she be converted into a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel.
In addition HMAS Sirius commissioned. She was built as a double-hulled commercial product tanker, MV Delos and purchased by the Commonwealth Government on 3 June 2004 It was the first time since 1935 that the RAN had held a combined decommissioning and commissioning ceremony
