Thank you very much indeed for your letter and a copy of the “Naval Historical Review”. I found the interview with Commander Wojciech Francki (the spelling of his name is really mischievous for an English speaking person) as a very interesting one. The “Old Commander” (this is the way he used to be named) is the oldest, highest rank and most meritorious of Polish ex-servicemen living in Australia. Thank you for making and publishing this interview. It was a privilege for me to be of some assistance in the process of preparation of this interview.
Besides, I found your “Review” as a very interesting historical journal. Myself, I am interested in the naval history and I read all the articles with a great interest, extending my own knowledge on many aspects previously unknown to me – for example a heroic story about Late Leading Seaman Ronald ‘Buck’ Taylor. I wonder why he was not awarded “Victoria Cross” for his utmost bravery.
