Harbour History Cruise Program for Schools

The Naval Historical Society of Australia is an all volunteer non profit organization whose mission is to promote Navy history. The NHSA currently conducts three, three hour Navy history cruises for U3A and Probus clubs. 80% of the people in 2023 rated the cruise as excellent in all categories and 100% would recommend to family and friends. Many of the people on board suggested the stories should be available to school students.

The NHSA has now developed a 2 hour cruise for school students. This cruise is sponsored and supported by the Chief of Navy, RADM Mark Hammond and the Fleet Commander. The cruise addresses four topics and cruises to Cockatoo Island and Garden Island. Places of historical interest are also highlighted during the cruise; Dawes Point, Fort Macquarie, Sydney Cove and Goat Island. The topics are listed below with notes on what is covered.

Booking

A cruise can be customised to meet a school’s requirements.

Cost is $45 per student. A minimum of 67 students is necessary to cover the charter of the boat.

Cruises depart and return to King Street wharf. Check in time is 9:30 for a 10:00 am departure.
