The tender to the RAN College at Jervis Bay, HMAS Franklin, named after the explorer Sir John Franklin paid off for disposal. The steel yacht had been purchased 7 years earlier from herr owner who had her built in scotland in 1906 and named her Adele. The vessel was again requisitioned by the RAN in WWII and commissioned as the examination vessel HMAS Adele.
