Units of the 16th Minesweeping Squadron, comprising HMA Ships Curlew, Gull, Hawk, Ibis, Snipe and Teal, commenced anti-infiltration patrols off the coast of Borneo. The vessels were rotated on patrol until the confrontation ended in December 1966
