Death of Chief Petty Officer Claude Choules at age 110. Born on 3 March 1901 Choules was at the time of his death was the oldest combat veteran of the First World War from England, having served with the Royal Navy from 1915 until 1926. After emigrating to Australia he served with the Royal Australian Navy, from 1926 until 1956. Choules was honoured with the commissioning of the Landing Ship Dock, HMAS Choules on 13 December 2011.
