RAN Complement:

Commanding Officers:- LCDR J.B. Dudley, LCDR L.V.H. Rixon.

Naval Crew:- Seaman – 1 LCDR, 2 LEUTs 1 PO, 3 ABs; Engineering – 1 CPO, 1 PO, 2 LS, 2 ABs, Others – 1 AB MED; Army Detachment – 1 SGT, 4 PTEs

In Service Statistics (RAN):

Range: 2,100nm @ 40kts (fully loaded with fuel and little cargo) or 1,500nm @ 40kts (fully loaded with fuel and cargo).

Lease: Two years for $38m (with option to purchase).

Load: 500 fully equipped troops, Army vehicles and equipment, one ship’s vehicle maintained on board.

JERVIS BAY’s aluminium superstructure is supported on vibration damping mounts. As completed it seated 876 passengers with a crew of 24.

The ship is now painted naval grey and carries the bow number 45. The full width wheelhouse is fitted with central and wing control positions for docking. A variety of entertainment, navigation, radio, control and monitoring equipment has been provided. A large air-conditioned crew mess is located under the bridge, accessed via a stairwell from the bridge or from the forward starboard passenger ramp.

Troop and other passengers can access the main passenger lounges via dedicated passenger gates located aft or two stairwells aft from the vehicle deck or two forward ramps from the spacious vehicle deck.
