REQUEST THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE BE PASSED TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE NAVAL HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF AUSTRALIA, CAPTAIN L.M. HINCHLIFFE, DSC RAN RTD. QUOTE
WREATH LAYING MISSION AT LONE PINE ACCOMPLISHED.
THE WEATHER WAS FINE AND WARM AND THE LARGE AUSTRALIAN CROWD WAS RESPECTFUL YET INFORMAL. THE VETERANS WERE IN FINE SPIRITS AND STOLE THE SHOW. SPEECHES WERE SHORT AND MOVING AND THE CEREMONIAL GUARD AND CATAFLAQUE PARTY WERE FAULTLESS.
LAID THE WREATH ON THE SEAWARD END OF THE STONE OF REMEMBRANCE. THE MAGNIFICENT WREATH SURVIVED THE 10,000 MILE JOURNEY VERY WELL AND RECEIVED MANY COMPLIMENTARY REMARKS. PLEASE PASS MY THANKS TO MEMBERS OF THE SOCIETY FOR THE HONOUR OF REPRESENTING THEM AT THE HISTORICAL WREATH LAYING CEREMONY AT LONE PINE MEMORIAL ON THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE LANDINGS OF GALLIPOLI
BEST WISHES, BRIAN ROBERTSON.
