Task Group 16-5 Enterprise (Rear- Admiral Raymond A. Spruance), 79 aircraft, and Hornet, 69 aircraft
Task Group 16-2 Cruisers New Orleans, Minneapolis, Vincennes, Northampton, Pensacola, Atlanta (Rear-Admiral Thomas C. Kinkaid)
Task Group 16-4 nine destroyers
2. Supply Group
Two tankers escorted by two destroyers.
3. Submarine Group
Nineteen submarines under the orders of Rear-Admiral Robert H. English.
4. Aircraft Based on Midway
One hundred and nineteen aircraft, including thirty-two Catalina flying-boats and nineteen Flying Fortresses
5. Garrisons and Units for the defence of Midway Island and the chain of atoll- outposts west of Pearl Harbour
6. North Pacific Force constituted on May 17th for the defence of the Aleutian Islands (Rear-Admiral Robert A. Theobald)
Heavy cruisers Indianapolis and Louisville
Light cruisers Honolulu, St. Louis, Nashville
Ten destroyers.
