A sailor rushed up to the Officer of the Deck in such great excitement that he stammered and stuttered.
The Officer lost patience with him finally and said “Sing it out!” The sailor drew in a deep breath and then began to sing:
“Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
The Admiral’s fallen overboard —
He’s half a mile behind.“
