Timetable of Events:
November 29 1942 Sunday 1200 Castlemaine and Armidale left Darwin.
November 30 Monday 0900 First air attacks.
December 1 Tuesday 0200 Arrived Betano, leaving immediately. 0800 Sighted Kuru with evacuees. 1100 Turned back for Betano (Armidale only). 1519 Sunk.
December 2 Wednesday 1200 Captain left with wounded in motor boat.
December 4 Friday. Raised whaler.
December 5 Saturday 1115 Whaler started out. Motor boat sighted by aircraft and later rescued by HMAS Kalgoorlie.
December 7 Monday Raft sighted by Catalina.
December 8 Tuesday Food dropped to raft. 1200 Whaler sighted by Catalina.
December 9 Wednesday 1735 Whaler picked up by HMAS Kalgoorlie.
December 10 Thursday 1100 Arrived Darwin.
